Our friends over at WHMCS currently have Version 4.3.0 in beta and expect to release the new version very soon (WHMCS is the billing system we use to handle all your payments / account information.)
This is exciting news as it enables us to offer you (the customer) a better experience!
This upgrade will offer numerous added functionality for you, so stay tuned!
We have now completed a full migration from cPanel to Plesk!
As a result, we have a lot more functionality available to us which enables us to offer a better service for all our customers, new or existing.
For example, Plesk has a built in clustering option. It also has a built in option to install common web applications such as WordPress, or Joomla!
We also now offer mail redundancy with all our packages, free of charge. This is in the unlikely event of a main server going down, the backup server will take care of mail until the new server comes online again!
Here at Cleverhosting, we like to try keep competitive with other webhosting providers, whilst still providing a safe, reliable, and secure service.
As a result, we’ve now given all packages a welcome bandwidth upgrade to Unlimited.
We hope to see many more sign-ups in the coming weeks / months. And for those of you who are already with Cleverhosting, we hope that this has been a good upgrade for you, and that you will continue to enjoy your service!

Increasingly across the internet, website developers are using CMS’ (Content management systems) as a backend for their website. There are many out there that offer roughly the same benefits, but have rather different user interfaces.
To name just a few, these include ‘Joomla’, ‘Website Baker’, ‘Drupal’, ‘Mambo’, etc. Incidently these are all free to use. These are complete solutions for a backend to your website. Let’s talk about the benefits of a CMS and what it can do for you.
- Heavily dynamic websites that require a lot of changes will almost certainly benefit.
- You can quickly update various information sources on your website within one centralised part of the CMS front-end, this allows you to quickly display updates to parts of your website that require regular updates.
- If you pay a website designer to make changes to your website regurlarly, then these charges will be significantly reduced, because the amount of changes are minimised due to a CMS handling the information better.
- With it being so easy to regularly add new content, you can add new content whenever / wherever you like, and quickly. Therefore you will be able to attract more visitors to your site by having search engines index your site more often due to the updated content.
- CMS’ generally have the ability for you to select a theme you like and go with it. You don’t need to have technical ability in HTML, PHP, CSS, etc in order to have a successful website. Not only does this make things easier for you, it also makes the whole process more enjoyable and helpful.
The above points are just a few reasons why using a CMS could be the right move for you.
I hope this article has given fair insight into a CMS and how it could benefit you. All of our web hosting packages allow you to setup and use a CMS for your website. If you wish to know further information, then please feel free to contact us.
In this post, I’m going to point you in the direction of a short guide that I compiled to help people setup their own WordPress blog.
A lot of my new clients come to me and ask how they would go about getting their own blog, and what to use. WordPress is ideal for this purpose, it’s one of the most frequently used blog systems out there, and it’s very reliable and easy to use.
The short tutorial I have put together was put together partly using my own knowledge and some steps from the WordPress website itself to get the correct terms etc. The tutorial is quite short & sweet, so if you have any difficulty following it, or get stuck at any step. Feel free to ask questions on the forum, then either me or another member will try and give you some help!
Please visit the Cleverhosting forums for this tutorial: http://www.cleverhosting.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=52.0
